Local Las Vegas Groups and Resources

Street Dogz- I wish every rescue made as big of an impact as Street Dogz does. Working to keep unhoused people and their dogs together by providiing vital resources and community outreach. Food, vet care, dog day care and more. To someone experiencing the trauma of becoming homeless a dog keeps them connected and motivated. and not giving up. There is nothing like loving and being loved by a dog. If you have that and nothing else, it's enough. It will keep you trying.. They provide dog day care, vet care, grooming ,food, and pretty much anything that may be needed. to dogs who's owners maay be struggling.. This organization is simply amazing!

The Nevada Society for The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a no kill shelter also proviiding resources and help to members of the community that may be in need. LIke every shelter, the NSPCA is always in need for volunteers and fosters. Even an hour a week helps so much. You just may find the best friend you needed in your life if you do. Visit their site for all the ways you can help!

The Animal Foundation is the "pound" for Las Vegas and Clark County. and they are in crisis! If you can't donate money, consider a more helpful donation of your time and volunteer or foster an animal for a weekend or longer. Right now this shelter is over capacity and desperate for some additional help. Can you volunteer a couple hours a week to clean some kennels? Can you foster a shelter dog, (even temporarily) which frees up kennel space for more dogs.? It's easy to be a hero to a shelter dog. I promise you won't regret it!!

Foreclosed Upon Pets Inc. provides aid to pets and their owners. Whether it be economic hardship, insufficient income, even the death of an owner, FUPI is always looking for Fosters and Volunteers!

I stumbled across this rescue at one of their adoption events and they were so friendly and inviting. They pull dogs from the Animal Foundation directly. Foster until forever homes can be found. And yes, House of Second Chances needs Fosters, Volunteers, and if your able, a generous donation of what you can give. I got the impression that they take many senior frosted faces in, often they have had some kind of neglect to their health and need care. From dental work to spay/neuter to making them pain free in their later years a worthwhile place to send some money, we all know how expensive vet care has gotten lately!

Do you know of a rescue group in Nevada that should be listed? We would love to promote any non-profit organization saving all forms of four legged friends. All you need to do is send us an email with their info!

The time you rent the space you can count on a private area for you and your dog only. Thank you so very much for reading about some of my favorite non profit rescues and giving what you can. Whether it be your time or money. Thank You!

A note to rescuers- Thank you. Many of you who do this work are often exhausted. physically and emotionally.

You see things that no one should see, yet you continue. You make differences in dogs lives. You may not be able to save every dog and feel defeated, at times. Be kind to yourself and remember today you made a difference in a dog's life. Just one matters. That dog's happiness matters. That dog MATTERS. One day I hope rescue groups aren't needed anymore. I hope every dog gets the love, affection, patience and care they deserve. Until that day, all your hard work is so very much appreciated and you have my deepest respect and gratitude. Thank You,

    Tracy
